You are officially invited to our 14th Annual Treloar Elevator Party on Sunday, October 20th at the Treloar Trailhead on the Katy Trail. We can’t believe it’s already here!

The Marthasville Volunteer Fire Department will be there grilling bratwursts. All proceeds benefit Treloar businesses hurt by July’s flash flood. Let’s celebrate the Katy Trail and support the community at the annual Treloar Elevator Party!

The Grain Elevator and the Mercantile

The Treloar Elevator Party is named after the site of the event – the historic grain elevator, which sits right next door to the Mercantile. This grain elevator was used to store grain, and the “elevator” was used to move grain from ground level to the top of the storage tower. Today, it represents Missouri’s agricultural and rural heritage, and is the perfect location to gather right on the Katy Trail.

While you’re there, stop in and see the lovingly restored Treloar Mercantile, a standing “time capsule” with its carefully preserved historic features. The Mercantile was recently donated to Missouri State Parks and named “The Ted & Pat Jones Welcome Center.”

Tram Rides to Peers and Back

Want to get out on the Katy Trail while you are at Treloar? Hop on a tram ride and take the beautiful trip along the 3-mile Country Store Corridor. Missouri State Parks will take you along the Katy Trail to Peers and back to Treloar. While you are at Peers, you can stop at Peers Store, buy unique gifts (100% of all proceeds go to conservation), and stretch your legs at Peers Prairie. When you are ready, State Parks will drive you back along the scenic Katy Trail to the Treloar Elevator Party!

Burkhardt Grove

You may remember our Trees of Treloar project. State Parks renamed it Burkhardt Grove. Come see how the trees have grown since being planted in October 2020. These oak, persimmon, pawpaw, and other species are all Missouri River valley natives!

The Treloar Mercantile is also home to Missouri’s biggest ear of corn. Come check it out!
